Founder, President and CEO Peter C. Johnson, MD Dr. Johnson was educated at the University of Notre Dame and the SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies at Case-Western Reserve University and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively. He took a postdoctoral fellowship in thrombosis/platelet biology at Harvard University. Dr. Johnson practiced reconstructive surgery for ten years on the University of Pittsburgh faculty where he founded and was the first President of the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative, after which he co-founded and was CEO of TissueInformatics.Inc. Prior to founding Scintellix, he served as Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President of Life Sciences and Chief Business Officer of Icoria, Inc. Dr. Johnson is a past Chairperson of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, President of the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association (PaBiotech), the Tissue Engineering Society, International (now TERMIS) and is presently the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the three-part Journal, Tissue Engineering. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative, Microscience Group and the University of North Carolina Medical Foundation. He also serves as the National Chairman of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine Medical Excellence Fund.
